Finn nodded again. "And they know we have the map, my contact said they are assuming Skywalker is already here and ready to fight." He sighs. "This is why I hate war."

He sighed, shaking his head, "They're not the only ones. No idea how the news spread as quickly as it has, but pretty much everyone knows he's been found, and most people figure he's already here with us and ready to lead a battalion."

Another head shake, finally looking almost as tired as he felt, "And of course if we try to correct that information it sounds like we're hiding something."

"And the First Order can't admit we beat them," he admits, "if they do they'll look weak and they know the rest of the Republic will come after them for war crimes." He sighs again. "Why can't these missions be easy?"

He actually smiled at that, the arm around Finn's waist curling tighter, just for a moment, "Because if they were we'd get bored."

He shrugged then, leading Finn through the door to the mess hall, still busy at that hour, but not crowded, "C'mon, we're getting you some real food."

Finn's stomach growls reminding him how long it's been since he'd last eaten. "Food, food sounds good," he replies, "I missed food."

Poe couldn't help but grin, shaking his head and clasping Finn's shoulder for a moment, giving him a gentle shake and shooing him towards the line, picking up a plate of his own and just selecting a few things, he'd had lunch not too long before, but an early dinner wouldn't kill him.

Finn fills his plate to the brim earning him smiles from the people around him. He has a lot of catching up to do in terms of life experiences and tends to over extend himself when he finds something he enjoys like food. He carries the plate and a drink over to an empty table and sets them down without spilling.

Honestly, Poe was a little impressed by both the tidiness of the pile, and the dexterity involved in not spilling anything, he just smiled again as he dropped into the seat beside the other man, setting in on his own food.

That, at least, was something they had in common, Poe liked food as well, a lot, but he also knew his limits, something that it seemed Finn was still learning, but that was fine, "It's good to have you back."
